Directions: From Interstate 5 south, exit at 10th Avenue in downtown San Diego, turn left on A Street, turn left on Park Blvd., go over freeway bridge, continue about one mile to Zoo Drive. Savoy Family Band at Getty Museum, Los Angeles
7:30 pm in the Harold M. Williams Auditorium, Getty Center. The Savoy Family Band plays honed-down, hard-core Cajun music laced with an earthy sensuality. The Band brings the raw energy of the dancehalls of southwest Louisiana to the stage, peppered with humorous and informative anecdotes about life on the Louisiana prairies. This is the group's first return engagement at the Getty since its acclaimed 2001 appearance. Reservations available beginning February 21. St. Patrick's Day Parade in San Diego
Another opportunity to party with your Bon Temps Social Club friends!
Please join the Bon Temps Social Club and Gator by the Bay for the 28th Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in San Diego on March 15th. The parade will start at 11 AM and we will march down 6th Ave to spread the good cheer and celebrate with our Celtic cousins of Ireland. Let’s meld the two cultures as we become the Irish Rebels straight out of the Louisiana Bayous. We will transform into Bells, Beaus and wear Gator Green to honor the day and the heritage that is so closely related to the Louisiana French heritage that we love so much. All are invited to march. There is no charge but your good cheer and wild enthusiasm. It will be a good opportunity to spread the word about Gator by the Bay and another opportunity to make another good San Diego cross cultural handshake. And, after the parade we can all mingle with the 80,000 San Diegans who are clearly identifying with the Joy of the Irish! John Bagwell will be providing his wonderful Mardi Gras float without the trailer this time, and it is complete with sound system for some good Celtic/Cajun dance music and decorations. We will also have our Second Line marching band like we had at the Mardi Gras event downtown. We have room for about 10 folks to ride and any number of marchers. What to wear? Please wear anything colorful with a Mardi Gras flair, comfortable shoes and be sure to have something green to show your support of our hosts. The parade starts at 6th and Juniper at 11 AM – Parking will be difficult so best to arrive early. Please let Peter Oliver know you will be participating.
