On Saturday November 1st, The Gator Theater starring the Bon Temps Social Club Not Ready for Prime Time Players will Present "The Marie Laveau Voodoo Queen of New Orleans and All Saints Day Celebration Halloween Ball." Let's all bring our mojo together for a great Halloween and All Saint's Day Celebration and roll it into a fun Saints and Spirits Costume Ball!
Costumes are recommended, but not required.
During the band break, The Bon Temps Social Club Not Ready for Prime Time Players with be performing a short seance show followed by a NOLA Jazz Funeral Procession with our very own Pierre Pierre as the funeral director. This is a "can't be missed" performance! There will a Photo backdrop with a All Saint's Day altar for individual photos and a group photo right after the procession. Also Queen Laveau (also known as Liz D.) will be doing fortune telling in lobby during the dance. If you would like to help out with decorations or/and set up, it would be greatly appreciated! Please contact Saint Fess, "Our Patron Saint of Piano Professor" (AKA Professor "Fess" Longhair) at garrytodd@gmail.com. It is going to be a great time! LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER!

COSTUME IDEAS FROM GARRY T:
Some costume Ideas would be: to come as your Favorite Saint or create your own Saint by choosing your favorite Celebrity (preferably one that has passed on to the other side) along with your own "Patron Saint of _________" such as Saint Chenier, Saint Jocque, Saint Boozoo, Saint Zydeco Joseph, OR Saint Elvis Our Patron Saint of Pelvis, Saint Liberace Our Patron Saint of Campy, Saint "Hey Mon" Marley Our Patron Saint of One Love, etc.; even make your own Saint cards to pass out.Let your mojo come forth. Other costume themes could be: Pirate Jean Lafitte and Krewe from the Louisiana Bayou, or a Voodoo doll, or The Blue Dog which was inspired by the Cajun Werewolf "loup-garou" or Sheriff Harry Lee the famous Louisiana lawman or Huey "The Kingfish" P. Long (P for politics) or the grounds keeper from The Cities of the Dead (which includes NOLA infamous St. Louis Cemeteries where both Marie Laveau's crypts are located) or a pallbearer (with six it will be a raising time), or the driver of a horse carriage Hearse OR the biggest Villain of them all "the CEO of your favorite bankrupt company" or finally come as the Honour Soiree... the Queen herself Marie Laveau. Note, there were actually two Maire Laveaus, the mother and her mischievous daughter both of the same name (below are links to her poster and history). Whatever your costumes will be, it will work!
