Lee produced the self-titled CD\, Hot Rod Lincoln in 1992 as well as Blue Cafe\, the bands third CD\, in 1996. The title track\, “Blue Cafe”\, was written for Buzz by Brian Setzer\, original frontman of the Stray Cats. \nIn 2000\, Buzz was asked to join Shanana\, 1950’s revival group whose legacy includes performing at Woodstock\, a cameo in the movie Grease\, and their own TV show from 1975-1981. \nBuzz was approached by Lee Rocker in 2003 to join the Lee Rocker band. SUMMARY:BTSC 2nd Saturday January Dance featuring Mitch Polzak & The Royal Deuces!
DESCRIPTION:Mitch Polzak & The Royal Deuces!\nSaturday\, January 11\, 2025\nWar Memorial Building\, Balboa Park\n3325 Zoo Drive\, San Diego\n$15 \n6:30PM – Free dance lesson\n7:00-9:30PM – Band plays \nThe Bon Temps Social Club is very excited to bring Mitch back to San Diego (perhaps you have enjoyed him at Gator by the Bay)\, to the War Memorial which boasts a large and beautiful wooden dance floor. \nThe big guy from out West and larger than life energy (he’s also 6’5’) is a performer\, guitarist\, singer\, banjoist\, songwriter\, composer\, entertainer\, musical historian and teacher; Mitch Polzak wears his heart on his sleeve and his playing in his heart. \nThere is not one singular definition of Polzak’s music but that is very specific to what he does. Being fluent in the musical languages of Country\, Rockabilly\, Honky Tonk\, The Bakersfield Sound\, Surf\, early Rock and Roll\, Bluegrass\, Cajun\, Blues\, and Truck Driving music gives Polzak the unique voice of the melting pot of the American musical experience. This is why he consistently connects with so many people directly at every show and “reads the audience” for the music he brings each performance. \nPolzak learned firsthand from some of his musical influences\, sharing the stage with legends like Don Maddox of The Maddox Bros. and Rose\, deeply respected contemporary and friend Deke Dickerson\, The Ragin’ Cajun Doug Kershaw\, Rockabilly icons Joe Clay and Gene Summers\, former Bluegrass Boy and West Coast music pioneer Peter Rowan and Cajun greats Jimmy Breaux\, Andrew Carriere\, and Blake Miller. He has also shared the bill with Brian Setzer\, Jerry Lee Lewis\, Duane Eddy\, The Stray Cats\, Big Sandy and The Fly Rite Boys\, and Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives. \nHope to see you there!!
